Michael S. DeLarco

How we started:
On February 23, 2004, Michael DeLarco was struck and killed by a Metra train in River Grove, IL. He was ten years old. It was imperative to his family and his parents’ dear friends that his spirit would continue to live on, so the Michael S. DeLarco Foundation 501(c) 3 non for profit organization was established. Shortly after his death, a friend of the family offered to organize a golf outing in Michael’s memory in order for those who loved him to be together for a day to remember Michael.

It was a fabulous day for the 1st Annual Michael S. DeLarco Golf Outing in August of 2004. Since then, the Michael S. DeLarco Foundation has continued on with the Annual Golf Outing and funds raised have helped others in need within the community, assisted in the funding of the project at the River Grove station, and currently partners with the Alexian Brothers Foundation. The outings have been days to have fun with family and friends but most importantly to share memories of Michael and remember what a truly lovable, giving, and special boy he was.
